Has anyone experienced transmission shift sensor failures? I have three buddies who have all had this problem. All before they got 100 hrs on their machines. One of them has had this problem happen three times already and he doesn't even have 150 hrs on it yet.

The problem is the shift sensor on the left hand side of the transmission/engine housing under the exhaust is crapping out. It locks the transmission in whatever gear it feels like and cuts out reverse. You can't select any gears manually nor can you use D1 or D2. It doesn't reset itself when you turn off the key for a while eitheir. Once you change out the sensor with a new one, its good to go. The first time my buddies brought their three machines in, there was at least 9 other ones with the same problem at the dealer already.

START IT UP, LET IT RUN 5 MINUTES.......
BEFORE YOU TURN IT OFF PULL FORWARD 8FT, THEN BACK UP ( make sure your on level ground )...
* MAKE SURE WITH KEY OFF ITS IN NEUTRAL ON ESP
* ON THE LEFT CONTROL HOLD BOTH UP AND DOWN SHIFT BUTTONS IN AND TURN THE KEY ON
* YOUR LCD DISPLAY WILL FLASH ( - - )
* AT THIS TIME RELEASE UP AND DOWN SHIFT BUTTONS ( youll have to do this fast )
* PUSH UP....DOWN....UP.....
* YOUL HEAR THE TRANSMISSION MAKE SOME NOISE
* THEN PUSH THE THROTTLE WIDE OPEN THEN LET GO..........
YOUR LCD SCREEN SHOULD RETURN TO NORMAL.........

THAT SHOULD FIX IT

My foot has never had any of these problems. Something to be said in favor of simplicity here, I think!!
