Let me see: the Suzuki has reverse, liquid cooling, dual OHC's, is a little faster, handles just as good and has the same MSRP...BUT - it doesn't say Honda on the tank!!! I guess I would have to buy the 400EX!!!LOL - no,LMAO!!! Some of you Honda guys are sooo in denial!!! Someone asks what's the best value for the money and you say the Honda??? That's like looking at a Toyota and being offered the same model in a Lexus for the same price. An absolute no-brainer.

hey novakaw650,,you dont own either one, what do you know.
have you even riden one. i own an ex and ride the z often enough,,
the z is a good quad ,I didnt say any differant.
something else , since we are at it.. too adjust the valves on the z , you have too take off the cams and shime it( so i am told , hope im right) the ex is just a simple adjustment.. remember , the more high tech(or toys it has) the more too break . the z is just in its first year...
try each quad if you can and decide from there...
this is the last post too one of these childish ex vs z posts,,,,

Both are great quads for great reasons. Can't go wrong w/ either....
Honda's 400ex is yesterdays news at yesterdays price.
Suzuki is today news and todays price..
Buy what you like and need for your wallet..5199-5699 or 4799-5499 or a used 400ex for a WHOLE LOT LESS......

I've only driven the 400EX and liked it alot - tons of fun. But common sense would tell you that if choosing between two machines that are very similar and one of the two had considerably more features, you would choose the one that had more to offer. If Honda had built the Z400 and called it an updated 400EX, the diehard Honda fans would be climbing all over themselves to claim it as the greatest sport quad ever built. (Excluding the TRX250r, which still remains on the pedestal).
