Now this is weird it may be nothing. I just finished washing my 400 on sat and after riding it around a little bit after washing it made a little clicking sound while idleing then stalled out. I started it back up gave a few blips on the throttle and it did not do it again. SOunded like a piece of metal in a garbage disposal. then sunday I started it up it did the clicking for a few seconds stalled out again, I restarted it, it clicked for a few times and it never did it again after I gave it some juice. Does anyone think somethings not seating right? The thing still runs like a scolded dog

Mine does the same thing, only until it's warmed up. It gives off a few click now and then. I checked my valves and they were fine. Now I'm thinking maybe it's the rocker arms, but if they were getting worn out, it would click all of the time. Heck, it may be the cam chain tensioner, I had a Honda CBR 600F3, and the cam chain tensioner would click until it got pressurized with oil.

Any opinions all you engine experts out there???

i did a search on exriders and they said that the 400 has a patented tick??? it is a mark of the 400 and it usually only happens a few times? A mystery of the engine I guess

Heres a little helpful hint,, after riding let the machine cool for a bit so u dont use cold water to wash it off so it will not crack the block. I used to do that with my 3 wheeler.
