Rubicon winch set-up
I have a few pics that show where I mounted the solenoid in the trunk. I can still get the little tool pack in and out also. It is a Warn 2000lbs. winch. I had a little trouble mounting the bracket to the front but all I had to do was drill out a hole a little bigger and grind a 1/8" off of a piece and she fit right up. I think it was the Warn mount kit too. I could be wrong on that though. Let me know if you have any more questions. I know the post says Wolverine but there are pics of the Rubicon in there too.

Hey jcsact,
Thanks for the response. Do you have any pictures of the front of your Rubicon? I'd really like to see how you winch mounted up. Do you have a roller fairlead? If so, did you have to cut part of the plastic cover on the front grill to make it work? Thanks again.

Waco,
No I didn't take any pics of the front. I should have if I get back over to my dad's sometime soon I will have to take a pic or 2. I put it on for him over at my house. We got it for him for a Christmas gift and it set inside his house for about 6 months till I went over and picked the 4-wheeler and the winch and put it on. I think the thing would still be sitting there if I wouldn't have put it on for him. I can’t stand to get a new toy and not play with it.
The plastic just had to be trimmed not really cut. There is a roller fairlead that is showing on the outside of the plastic that is on the front bumper. Everything else is behind that. There is a slot on the plastic piece and the front and the mounting bracket stick out just enough for the fairlead to bolt on. It actually has a really clean look to it. No butchered plastic or odd pieces sticking out.

Check with your local dealers. Sometimes they will install a winch for free if you buy it from them. I would suggest going with a warn 2500lb winch with a mounting kit. Easiest and quickest way to do it. The bigger solenoid will last a little longer then the 2000lb one.
