Default CR 125

This weekend i may be trading my 99 modded blaster for a 99 cr125. I have ridden an 89 cr 125 an i wasnt thrilled with the power but it was decent and will pull away from any blaster. Will this bike be a good step up for me or do you think i will have to step up again in a few years.

Im 5 11 185

i have ridden my friends 96 CR 125, they are pretty fast, but if you bog em you will foul a spark plug pretty quick. If you want something with more power, try looking at a Suzuki RM125 and KTM SX125, they both are faster than a KX, CR, and YZ. both have awsome power, and both handle great. but if you where to stick with the CR, i think you would be happy with it, it may not be as powerfull or as fast as the sx or rm, but all dirtbikes are fun to ride.

depends on what kind of riding do you do? my friends and I ride in a gravel pit, and fast trails so i went with the RM125, since it had both speed, power and handling. a 125 has lots of power, and they easily pull adults. so you really dont need to step up to a 250 later on, but if u have a craving for lots more power, then a 250 is good.

for sure the bike will be a good step up, once u get used to bike, u can blast through trails a lot faster than with a quad.

From a Blaster to a CR125? Better be careful, that power will get you hurt.

Fez,

You will be riding that CR125 in know time. Its a screamer.

I will be willing to bet you lunch at Mickey Dees that in one year you will what a CR250.

Two stroke power is addicting.

My last MX bike was a 97 CR500. Now that had power but the new 250's are just as good as the 500.

In my advanced state of age I finally have had to settle down and just stick with the Kawasaki KDX series of bikes for trail riding.

My dirtbike ride at the monument is an 01 KDX200

My son just had our CR 125 set up with a big bore kit from Eric Gorr. He said it's a sweet power boost. Eric Gorr can work magic on that 125 for you and he's one heck of a nice guy. Here's a link to his site http://www.eric-gorr.com/
