hello, what is the stock chain size for a 400ex? as in the number of links it has stock. I need a new chain and sprockets and wanted to know the stock number teeth front and rear plus how many links in the chain (stock length) thanks

 

I don't know the number of links in your 520 chain, but any accessory house or Honda dealer would have the info on their micro fiche, including the sprocket sizes.

 

The stock gearing is 15/38 (front/rear). Just take your chain off and measure it. Most places will just sell you a standard length chain, and you'll have to shorten it a bit. The new chain will have a master link, so it will be easy to put together after you remove the extra links. (use a chain breaker, or have your local shop do it for like $5, or free if they aren't crooks).

 

I think I remember it being 94 links.
