stator

I have a 89 trx250R anyone know how to test a stator can i use an ohm meter..because i was running the bike in the rain and it was breaking up a lot so after that i brought it home and went over the hole wiring system and srink tubed all the connections but when i went to start it nothing it had no spark so know my friends said that if you had water in the stator it could have ran all the way home but for some reason the some times just die a day latter. and i checked for water in it no water but there was a crack in the cover so it was getting wet but before i get a stator i would like to be sure... plus if any one could help me out with a wireing diagram not that i'm doubting my self lol i would just like to look over it....

I had a 89 also, Mine did the same thing, send it to ricky stator,he can check it for you.I put one out of a older 3wheeler in mine i found at a junk yard, a local honda dealer told me it was the same specs as mine, I put it in and voila, worked no prob.

You can Ohm the stator but I forget the exact spec's. Call Ricky Stator for that 619-449-3905. Also be sure your plug cap is good! This seems to break down a lot especially if it's the original. If it is replace it along with the coil then keep you old ones for spares.
Also Ricky Statoor sells brand new stators for around $125, MUCH cheaper than from Honda.
