rancher vs. foreman
#1
which is better in mud rancher or foreman with stock tires on them?
i go through most mudwholes that is rutted up and i need groundclearence like the rancher has?
but does the foreman make up the ground clearence from all the power that it has?
which atv is better in mud all stock?

Rancher, for now. The Rancher has the improved torques sensing differentials. The 2000 Foreman doesn't. Also, ground clearance is more important than power in rutted up mudholes. If the Foreman gets them in 2001 then maybe the Foreman because of the extra power.

I measured groung clearance on a stock 350 and 450, and they are identical, the ads measure the 350 at the belly pan and the 450 at the rear and thats why there are listed different.I've seen both try the same mudhole and the 450 gets through and the 350 needs a pull, horsepower still counts.

You are correct about the "actual" ground clearance. Both are the same when you measure under the skid plate that covers the rear differential. However, the Rancher has more when you measure under the footpegs. That means the Foreman would drag the differential plus the belly pan before the Rancher. This comnined with it's new SURE-TRAC front end gives the Rancher the NOD.
