Default How Do I Beat A Z400

Dude, what are you smoking? Z400 has 29 stock, 400ex has 27 stock. Pipe and filter gets a 400ex to like 30 or 31. Pipe a Z400 you get maybe 33 or 34, for the 400ex to equal that all you need is a better piston OR cam. Z400 is not the awesome speed machine you think it is, it only has a 2 hp advantage...... you make it sound like the Z blows it out of the water.

The diference is the 400EX has no potential in stock form. The Z-400 has gobs of potential you just need to unleash it. The stock DS-400 dirt bike has 39 HP, the pipe being the biggest difference, the Carb being second and compression being third. I have seen actual dyno reports that have the Z-400 putting out 35 HP with the addition of a Yoshimira pipe (thats it)

The 400EX is a great bike, and for its time it hit the mark, but its 5 years old and it motor was not the optimal design when it was introduced.

I thank Honda for putting out the 400EX, it woke the industry up to the fact that people did want performance quads, but its time to religate the motor in the 400EX to the BONE YARD.

As far as the Z-400 goes it handles every bit as good as the 400EX (maybe a little better) and it has a motor that is fantastic, Honda needs to wake up and update the 400EX.

Honda is not selling 400EX's any more, they almost can't give them away, it is now hitting thier bottom line so Honda will introduce a new quad by middle of next year, they have to if they want to make money (which they do).

really so where did you hear all of this.
there is two honda dealers within 12 miles of my house and i am there quite offten and have not heard that. so i would have to guess that you just pulled that stright out of your a$$ and if that is the case could you please wash it off next thim your smelling up the place

WOW, who pee'd in your Corn Flakes this morning! When I bought my 2003 Foreman in September the sales manager for Naults Windham Honda in Windham NH said "We have 8 of those things in boxes we can't give them away"

So settle down stymee

Hey I own a Honda so I am unbiased, but In have ridden both and the Suzuki is better. Before you continue spurting information that comes from your hart and not your brain take a Z-400 for a ride don't just quote HP figures from some Magazine.

By the way so you don't come back with some "look you bought a utility quad what do you know crap" I have been riding performance quads for 10 years, I bought a utility because I destroyed my ACL and I have two small kids who love the Foreman and its ability to pull them around the yard through snow or shine.

Don't take stuff so personal, lighten up

i agree with JW and i have road both, and did not talk hp numbers but there right.
so because some dealer in hoebunk NH is not selling his 400ex's you just think the honda is not able to give them away anymore. your the one talking about getting facts stright.
a pipe kit and opening up the air box will put you dam close with a z400 i know i have road both with both and saw it every weekend in silver lake sand dunes and other places. not that any of it matters it dose not mean $hit for the track.
thank you for the report on the NH 400ex sales, and i would love to see this lt250 with mild porting that will beat a 430ex.

I guess Windham NH is not the thriving metropolis that Spring Lake Michigan is, but at least NH doesn't have a DETROIT, YUUUUKKK can you say sh@# hole?


Yes a stock LT250r is faster than a 250R, the Tecate stock is faster than both and YES a mildly ported LT250R is faster/quicker than a 430EX with full big gun pipe, big XR400 cam, rev box, porting, air box mods, jetting and bigger front sproket.

When you grow up, gratuate high school and learn to look objectivly at things you should consider exchanging your opinions, till then go back to gym class numnum.

your talking about age and your trying to rip on a city acrossed the state from me (thats dam near biger than your state) and the city i just moved too. ok
fisrt im not in high school or college any more and i have been riding for 12 years. and racing for 4.
as for my job well lets just say i have to be very objective, but you should try amitting when your wrong cuz buddy your wrong. and if your not why is there not any one on this post backing you up?
am for me im done with this post. sorry your going to lose out on your only injoyment in your life but i have better things to do. all things aside have fun riding and cograts on the new quad ride safe.

Dang 03foreman is geting a little pissed off.... Here is my .02, If you have a piped z and a piped ex they are very close it all depends on the driver. I beat piped z's all day at pismo. Another thing if you bump the compression to the same as the z you are on par with the z or have more hp!

u need more then a pipe 2 beat a z unless u spend like 600 dollors for a yosh pipes dont do that much the only give bottom the usaly dont give top end unless u speed alot on the pipe who really cares which one is faster there both great bikes and fun to ride
