250x vs 300ex

First off, thanks for all the responses. I guess I should have told you I am not stupid about four wheelers. I had an 87 250x w/ the 350x motor. It was bad. I just bought a 91 250x that is so stock it still has the factory tires. I was just wondering what everyone else thought. What I can gather they are basically the exact same machine except for electric start and a little more displacement, and obviously the color difference. Thanks for all of the input.

250x depending on what you have done i seriously doubt that you will outrun a 300ex with a 250x i have a 300ex that is highly modified and i will bet you anyday that your 250 will not outrun a modified 300ex I have raced numerous 250x's modified and stock and have yet to be out run by one i think before you say that you have out run lots of them you need to race a few that has a little but of go to them.My brother has a yamaha grizzly that I will bet that will smoke your 250 x without a doubt in my mind.

250x did beat my 300ex. I couldnt believe it either but he did. When he bought it all they said that was done to it as a cobra pipe system and a k&n jet kit. Which i dont believe since he blew right past my ported out 300ex.
By the way my 300ex is for sale in northeastern PA if your interested

my 250x is not all stock it has a cobra pipe k&n air filter.and please tell me where you got a fourteen tooth front sprocket isen't that kind of close to the case.

250X- I am not sure where he got the 14 tooth sprocket, I think he got it from Ronnies, but i am not sure. It has plenty of clearance away from the case. he doesnt run it with the cover on, but he shaved the cover so it would fit, if he wanted it to. my 250x would be just as fast as his EX if i had mine geared up. I have a question for you 250X. Does your X suck gas???? I have had my X for a total of 36 hours and i have gone through a tank of gas!!!!!!! i cant believe it!! considering it has a 36mm carb, and one high compression ratio. All i know is it sucks when you ride aways away from home and you have to be conservative on gas! I go through half a tank of gas from riding for 5 hours. Man does that thing love gas, i let the machine idle after coming down a hill or something and i have to keep feathering the throttle, do you have to do that? anyways, thanks man, piece out

rogersx my quad an't great on gas but it isen't that bad.sounds like what your problem is is your not getting enough gas try upping the jet and your carbator floats migh not be set right there float level is 18.5mm(0.73in.)just try cleaning out all the jets and before you try to do this try turning up the idle up and if that's your problem try down jeeting it that should give you better gas milage.

250x-apperantely you know more than i do when it comes to carburetors, I could never do any of that stuff except for turning up the idle. I am thinking that the guy who owned it before me must have turned down the idle, and then turned up the jets or something, see i really wouldnt know, but the thing always kills on me. well thanks anyways. out

250x's are faster stock than a 300ex stock
My mojave has faster top speed than a 300ex
