One of the guys I ride with has one. He claims its better, but he claims everything he has is better than anything anybody else has. My warn has pulled him out just fine!

I have the Warn A-2000 and im very happy with it.I dont use it a great deal but when i do im glad that i have it.Its the best thing i have added to my quad.I dont think you would be unhappy with the Warn.Never heard of a Rule winch.

I looked at them all when before I bought mine. The rule was top of the line but at a premium price. I ended up getting a Warn 2500. One advantage of the Rule is you can hoist something up with the winch and shut your machine off and it will stay locked. I think it's the only atv winch that offers that feature.

I believe SuperWinch has the automatic brake, also. Warn makes a brake kit (part # 22142) that will hold whatever the load is that is attached to it. From the factory, the Warn's have a 150 pound holding capacity, which for all intents and purposes, will allow the load to be released when the motor is turned off. The brake kit does work well, as I have installed and use one.

I have the RULE 3300# winch and have been very pleased with it.Mounted on my 2000 450ES. It is designed for Marine applications so its handles "wetness" with ease and without trouble.Has the brake as mentioned in earlier posts.I did a lot of research before purchasing it.It is more expensive than the others but you get what you pay for. Most people would agree with that statement. I had read a lot of negative posts about WARN and Superwinches. I know people who have both and are happy however. I have used my winch less than a dozen times since installing it but in that time it has paid for itself in my opinion.Do a bit of research when hunting for prices. I have seen the RULE and WARN 2500# for the same price. I'd go with the RULE again in a heartbeat even if it were $100 more.If you do go for it, I'd mount a on/off toggle switch to the solenoid to save it as the way they provide it is wired "live" and power is always on as long as the ignition is on.(unless something has changed in the last 8 months)

There is a good review of the RULE and Superwinch units in the Product Review section under the accessories section from 10/21/98. I purchased mine from IVY R Redding Co Inc.Check 'em out.

Best of luck.

Fishbone.

I have passed Ivy Redding's place on I-20 many times. He has been there for years! If he sells it, he can get you the parts or fix it. Very reputable man. Family business.
