Parts for a wrecked 400 ex
#1
I am probably about to buy a 2001 red honda 400ex that has been wrecked and am wondering about how much its going to cost to fix it (me and my dad doing all the work). Both of the front a-arms(upper and lower) are broken on one side, front plastic needs replaced, pipe is broken where the muffler goes on, front rim is bent, and handlebars are bent. Thats the only stuff I can think of right now. I think it wont be more than 1000$ to fix everything buying mostly new parts and around 500 if I go the cheaper way. I will try to buy stock a-arms, cause I know lots of people put aftermarket ones on and have stock a-arms laying around. Im guessing it will be about 100$ for the tire & rim, 200 for the a-arms, 150 for the front plastic, 20-80 for the handlebars(depends on what brand), and 100-400 for exhaust(stock or aftermarket).
It will probably be a few months before I get it fixed, since I will have to pay for the parts. Any ideas on how close to these prices I could get parts for?

Front plastic is only 80 retail new and can be bought for around 65. East Coast ATV has a lot of 400EX parts used, talk to Dave and tell him Rod in Texas told you to ask for him. I think Dave runs the show over there and he has sold me quite a few things for a 400 including the whole motor.
