If using knobbies, what is the best tire pressure to run in the sand? High, low or normal? Also which would work better, 18" turf tamers or new stock 20" radials that came on the 88-89 250R?

As for the fronts, 21" trekkars or 22" stock honda radials?

Thanks in advance!

For sand I'd run your tire pressure just a bit low. But if you want to really get around the sand,I would suggest investing in some paddles. The difference will be night and day, trust me. I tried running my LT 250 R ini the sand with holeshots, talk about working the motor to get moving!, But then I put my paddles on about 5 minutes later( kinda running a test) and there was a complete difference...

The reason im asking is I am attending a sand race where paddles are not allowed.

If you can't use paddles, use the stock radials. They have fairly tall ***** and will grip way better than the turf tamers (which work well on hardpack due to the close **** spacing). For the front, it won't make much difference what tire you use.

Tire pressure can't be too low, or you'll toss a bead. 5 - 7 psi would be a good range to be in without beadlocks in the sand, that is - if it's ALL sand.
