Default 250EX Valve Adjustment

Hey everone, just wondering who has adjusted valves on there 250EX. I just checked mine and they are ok (right at .005). It is a 2002 with one year of riding and about 100 to 150 hours ride time. Real easy to do and fun. But anyways I was just wondering if anyone has had to make a adjustment at this mileage (hours) or is it normal for this motor or any honda motor not to have adjustment problem. I have had no ticking problems or noise. Just making sure I keep up with the maintenance. I also have to check my 400EX valves this spring. Thanks!

Didn't realize internal oil filter requires maintenance? What and how often?

I asked my mechanic after I got my valves adjusted how long after would I have to adjust them again, I was surprised when he said 1-1 1/2 years later I would need to readjust. I figure it looks easy enough and if not it costs here in my area 44 bucks. In that case I will probably adjust them anywhere from 6 mo-1 years. He did mention that sometimes-new ATV’ s the valves from the factory get out of whack soon after riding them.

The best 40 bucks that I spent on our 250 was to buy the oe manual from honda. Look in the back of your owners manual and it will tell you all the info of where to order it from. Its better than any chilton book you'll ever get.

I also bought the oe manual. It is worth the money just to have the correct torque specs.
