Rubicon Tires?
#2
I replaced ours with GoodYear Mud Runners, the same size I took off. I don't think the power difference, from what I am told by other ATV owners, is worth the 1/2 inch gain in ground clearance. That is not much, 1/2 inch.
The GoodYears have been good, 1500 miles and they look great.
Buy the ones that look great to you, you know more than they do.

ITP 589's and GBC Gators are both a very good mud tire. I would reccomend only buying a 6ply tire if you run in the bush or in really rough terrain as they are very resistant to punctures. I don't personally know anyone running mudlites but they are a 6ply tire and should be a good tire. Bearclaws are also another 6ply tire that has been very good to me and everyone I know that has them likes them. I believe you can fit 26x10x12 and 26x12x12 tires on the rubi with no problems. I always like to run a little wider tire myself-I like to have a little bigger foot print for better floatation in the muskeg(or bog for the benefit of the neufies!) which there is a lot of in the area I ride in.

I am having 27" Mud Bugs installed on my '01 Rubi tomorrow.
27-10-12 front
27-12-12 rear
I had the chance to see another Rubi with this set up and it looks great.
My buddy has a 450 ES with the same tires and I've seen him go places others wouldn't dream of.
You do not need a lift kit or wheel spacer for these tires, just notch out a small portion of the heat shield that surrounds the muffler.
