hello guys
I have a Honda 200, i've been in water up to the fenders and it's fine. When i check for water i usually check the BRAKES and the AIR FILTER that's the most important stuff to check.

Ohh and DrRod did you say you saw or had a 12 dollar winch or am I wrong??

Greetings,

I bought a 2-ton come-along for about $12 from the Sportsmans Guide. Its a hand-lever type winch -- no power other than arm power. Its usually about $24 but they always have something on sale. If you haven't seen their catalogs or web site, check it out. Its a real eclectic mix of stuff -- heavy on the military surplus and hunting over-runs, but tons of other stuff including ATV accessories.

Just giving Thumper an idea on a low cost alternative to a winch or repeated quad-drowning.

I've got a Recon and I took it accross the Pacific Ocean. I almost got fetched up on a whale once, but the 44" Wooly Boogers I have on the back kept me going. Since I weigh 1797lbs, the only thing that was showing was my head. She didn't stall out though. I was clocked by the Exxon Valdez going 60 knots, which is 69 mph. When I finally reached land, I rode a wheelie for 14 miles on the beach and then stopped and had some steamed clams with the natives. I then turned around and came back home, pulling 37 water skiers.

HAHAHA
you're crazy 450SHeavy!
I did basically the same thing but I only had 43" tires with 500 pounds of air in each but I only hauled 25 skiers...

Seriously though I've been in mud/water that was almost to my waist with my Big Red three wheeler. It died on me but I jumped off quick and let it float up a little and a friend and I pulled it out. Checked the oil and everything and there was no water in it. I got lucky there.

Greetings,

Regarding the $12 come-along, just got a new Northern catalog and they also have a 2-ton lever type cable winch (i.e. come-along) for $12.
