FOREMAN ROCKIN STEREO
#1
THIS MAY SOUND A LITTLE WEIRD BUT I AM HOOKING UP A STEREO TO MY 98 FOREMAN 450ES. I HAD HAD ONE ON IT BEFORE WITH TWO 6X9 SPEAKERS, 50WATT BOOSTER AND BLAUPUNK 50WATT STEREO. IT WORKED ALRIGHT BUT WANT TO UPGRADE HAVE A LOT A STUFF JUST SITTING AROUND HERE. HERES THE SCOOP I HAVE A 85WATT STEREO (BLAUPUNK) 50WATT AMP (ALPINE) TWO 6.5INCH SPEAKERS AND BASS CANNON 8INCH SUB 100WATT AMP. I HAD NO PROBLEM RUNNING THE OTHER STEREO EVEN RUNNING ALL NIGHT CAMPING BUT AS YOU CAN SEE THIS IS A BIT MORE POWER. DOES ANYONE KNOW IF MY FOREMAN WILL POWER THIS AND TELL ME HOW TO TOGGLE SWITCH MY FRONT HEADLIGHT? SOUNDS WEIRD MAYBE TO SOME OF YOU BUT MAN YOU NEED ONE ITS GREAT TO BE OUT ON THE TRAIL AND HAVE SOME MUSIC. THANKS FOR YOUR HELP PLEASE REPLY IF YOU CAN ANSWER MY QUESTIONS.

i think the foreman puts out 300 watts which is 25 amps.to power that stereo you will have to leave the bike running all day at 3000 rpm.with the bike off and the stereo cranked up your battery will be dead in 1/2 hour.i've had stereos on all my quads for the last ten years so i speak from experiance.i also found out that the stock battery wont cut it and i was replaceing it every year.if your going to run a lot of acc.you will need 2 batterys, get a 250 or 300 amp garden tractor bat.if your trunk is big enough put it in there wire it neg.to neg. pos to pos.and it will run off both and charge both.one of my earlier bikes had a cheap stereo with a100 watt booster and with it cranked up for 3 hours both batterys wouldn't start it.

OK GUYS HERES THE REST OF THE STORY. THE STEREO ALONE WILL BE RUNNING THE SPEAKERS WHILE BIKE ISNT RUNNING FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME EVERYTHING ELSE WILL BE SHUT OFF. BUT WHILE RUNNING I WAS HOPING TO HAVE ENOUGH POWER OUTPUT. THE STEREO ALONE SHOULD NOT RUN IT DOWN I RAN MY OTHER ONE ALL WEEKENDS CAMPING AND BATTERY WAS FINE. JUST WONDERING WHILE RUNNING IF THIS WILL DAMAGE IT OR CAN ANYTHING BE DONE TO IMPROVE POWER OUTPUT. I THOUGHT OF GETTING GARDEN TRACTOR BATTERY BUT WILL IT KEEP BOTH BATTERYS CHARGED. EVEN IF I HAD TO CHARGE THEM UP ONCE A MONTH AM WILLING TO SACRIFICE TIME. GOTTA HAVE SOME MUSIC MAKES THE DRIVES MORE ENJOYABLE. AND BY THE WAY FRANKD WAHT KIND OF BIKE DID YOU HAVE THE STEREO ON? AND I LISTEN TO ROCK COUNTRY EVERYTHING. THANKS FOR YOUR HELP LATER WHEN EVERYTHING IS DONE WILL TRY TO POST A PICTURE FOR EVERYONE.

every 4-wheeler i've owned that had a battery in it had a stereo.right now i have a 99 ac 500,before that i had a 95 honda 300 4x4 the tractor battery fit right in the trunk.the first quad i owned was a 84 trx200 with hi-lo range(and still my favorite)this had a stereo, booster, heated hand grips, and 2 55 watt head lights and 2 batterys it ran all this with no trouble.

I've been considering putting a stereo on my quad as well, but I don't think it's very doable on a 400ex, haha. Just out of curiosity, what kind of speakers are you guys using? They must be pretty weather/water resistant, right? Like some of those Pioneer Marine 6.5s or something? Or do you just use cheap speakers that you don't care if they get soaked occasionally? Some pictures of these stereo setups would be very interesting.

i think that if you guys are ridding around with a stereo on you are not ridding hard enough. when i go out and ride i ride i i want to listen to music i can to my room and listen to my stereo. if you want to listen to music get a water proof cd player then you won't have to worry about messing up your quad. to me it is just not worth it.

I was considering getting one of those helmet radio/walkie-talkie things so that when I was racing my friend could hook the other end up to a cd player but thought it would keep my mind to occupied on that insead of the race and be dangerous. Its illegal to drive a car listening to music on headphones cause its dangerous so it would be with quads. I dont htink that walkman idea is too good.
