I have a i have a 95 300ex w/ K&N air filter, trail porting, all around valve job, complete gasket set, clutch kit, baja skids, Weisco piston, xct holeshot tires (22-10-9), suppertrapp e pipe and silencer. I want to put a sprocket on it (SIZE 13) so i can gain more low end..the trails i ride on are tight and rough. If i put it on..will there be a substantial difference in low end? Right now, w/ stock gearing i can stick w/ a stock warrior until it hits 6th gear. if the sprcket it put on..will i be able to have alot better acceleration? Thanks guys (i know i will loose top end)

Stock gearing on a 300EX is 13/38. Double check and see what your running. I have a 14 tooth on mine, it pulls the gears longer. The front end is a little heavier than with the 13 tooth, it'll still wheelie pretty good though. A little top end is gained how much I don't know. Double check your gearing and let us know how you're doing. Good luck.

Did you have to remove the guard to run the 14 tooth sprocket?

I have been told that you have to either remove the guard or grind in down until it fits.

Yes you do have to remove it or have it milled down to fit. I'm always checking chain tension and chain and sprocket wear. I run with mine off, but I'm gonna have my case saver worked over and put it back on. Better to have something than nothing at all. I run 20-11-9's on the back and haven't run the 13 with those tires yet. I'm going to try it next time I ride. It should climb hills really well.

mike you ought to put on the 13 tooth sprocket, because i, too, have 20 inch tires and a 13 tooth sprocket. I can pull almost any hill in 3rd gear easy. I have never tried any hills in 4th YET. I just got it a couple of weeks ago.
