Default whats up with honda

Honda isn't making a new 250r. A company that deals in Honda is taking a 400ex and putting a CR250r engine in it and Honda helped them design the forward kick start. You will have to order them from Service Honda and wait. You wont be seeing them in dealer showrooms. When/if Honda comes out with a new HP quad I would bet my great grandmothers burlap douche bag it wont be a 2 stroke.

Default whats up with honda

honda should just hook up with suzuki and learn how to make a good 4 stroke quad ..the best atv to this day was the 250 r...now honda needs to make a new quad ...the 400 ex isnt cutting it anymore...time to get with the program..liquid cooled and reverse..thats what people want now ..look if they arent going to make anything like the 250 r..then make something like the z or the raptor..sure the 400 ex is great if you put a 440 kit or put a bunch of money in it...stock for stock the z will kill it ....and they cost the same ...the z has reverse and liquid cooled . when the motor gets hot ..it loses power..thats why liquid cooled is better...like i said if honda isnt going to make anything like the 250 r..than they better make something better than the 400ex..

Honda will do one of two things(or both):
put a XR650R engine in a moded 400EX frame(longer travel susp./wider A-arms)
Or put a CRF450F engine in a moded 400EX frame
both would have liquid cooling

I think they should do both! the TRX650EX to compete against the DS650/raptor and to be the desert racer/rider. And the TRX450R (the R would stand for race) to be the race/MX quad to compete against the Z-400 and C-dale's,predator,raptor,blah blah

I HOPE they do this but who knows, one thing is for sure.....they have been working on a new sport quad for a while now, everyone knows honda isn't so stupid that they would have no plans as of yet for a new sport quad! All of their racers have been running CRF450F based quads for like a year! That is usually A pre release routine all the companys go thru to work out the bugs of a new bike.

honda is already testing the crf450.............

no telling if it will be sold or not

i've seen somewhere before that
a company (im not sure who........will build and sell you a custom 650ex..................(do a yahoo search for 650ex)

but it's around i think like $15,000--$20,000...........

thats a lot of money!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you could build any kind of quad you want with that kind of money

look honda will take a few years to make something like that....but if you really wanted something like that...go to kandkatv..he builds that stuff...he put a 426 4 stroke motor in a 250 r lonestar frame...and he is putting a crf450 in a 250 r lonestar frame...the crf450 isnt on the web site yet. it is P.H.A.T..check out his web site....kandkatv.com...maybe honda should hook up with him..

East Coast ATV does it as well they have all their projects on their site and will build anything you want. If you but the motor and the necessary parts they will put a CRF or YZF motor in your 400ex for $995. They have pictures of it on their site.

I do not think it will take a few years because I think they have already been working on it for a year and a half now. I expect to see an announcement by summer of a 2004 quad and it would be released way before the actual start of 04 (like they always do).

It would be pretty sweet with a XR650 engine because with the HRC hop up kit that engine makes 55HP. The CRF450 makes 45 if im not mistaken, but it's lighter.

Honda may not care about the magazines but they will...and soon.

Spoke to a dealer in the local area that does the most sells in the J4 (suk, honda, kaw, and yam) and he said he hasnt been able to give a 400ex away since the Z400 has gone mainstream and that the ricon, depsite decent sales at first, has fallen way behind the Griz and p650. His remarks were "The reviews of the ricon in the magazine doesnt help it any". He is really dissappointed with the 400ex as he said he hasnt touched he inventory of last years models and the new ones will be arriving. If this is consistant in most areas then Honda will have to get motivated soon. I think they do make a nice quad but have sit on their past successes to long. Yea, dependability is important...but with all the j4 manufactures improving their products reliability performance is getting alot more attention.
