Adding some form of running boards
#1
Years ago I extended the length of the pegs on my '87 350 4-Trax so the passenger had something to rest on. One of the best mods I did for both the driver and the passenger.
I am now thinking about creating some sort of running boards. I do a lot of stand up riding and I think this would provide extra comfort. I have not thought it through yet. Maybe I will just weld something on from the pegs back so that I don't interfere with the shifter or the brake.
I have hooked my shifter foot on sticks and roots many times. I have also run over my heel with the back tire when I have slipped off a peg - ouch. Maybe a well designed running board could prevent this.
Has anyone done this on an older machine? Suggestions on what worked and what didn't wrt the shifter and brake area?
Thanks,
DJ
