Honda 450S tires and stuff
Well I am About to buy my first quad and I have choosen the 450 S. Reasons are that it meets all of my requirements for useage. Reliabile (As much as any other), powerful enough to do any kind of work, handles well, Standard tranny, and looks are right up there with the best of them. My questions are about accessories ...
What do you people think about the Kenda Bear Klaw tires? Decent all around?
Other accessories are a winch, hand and thumb warmers, K&N Power kit, and a gun case.
Do you have any advice on these accessories, Brand or quality?
Thanks In advance

Where abouts in Alberta are you? I am in Red Deer and ride mostly in the Rocky/Sundre/Nordegg areas. I have found for those areas that the Bearclaws are one of the best all around tires for the price. Pay particular attention when buying tires to the ply rating. Bearclaws are a 6 ply tire and pretty much indestructible. A lot of others are only 4 ply. If you are looking to get a mud tire, I would recommend the Goodyear Mudrunners. They are an excellent mud tire but still ride fairly smooth on hardpacked trails. As far as a winch goes, get the 2500lb Warn. It has the best reliability out of most all the ATV winches around. Also any parts for it are readily available at a warehouse in Edmonton so the parts are inexpensive and easy to get. Also the 2500lb has a much better switch for controlling the winch. The 2000lb warn twist style switch sucks-especially when it sticks in the winch-in position and binds your cable up. I too am looking to get the K&N power kit along with a muffler of some sort, but not right away. I am putting a down payment on a new '03 450ES at Blackfoot Motorsports in Calgary this week and hope to pick it up in a month or two. I will be putting 26x10x12 and 26x12x12 mudbugs on the front and rear as well as a 2500lb Warn winch and a flat gas can that straps to your rack. Should be fun. All this for $10,000 canadian including taxes. Not too bad I think.
