Default Rubicon Shift **** Trouble

Hi Guys: I just went outside to plow 8 inches of snow and pulled my shift **** right off. Obviously, I had lost the retaining screws. I have several questions and hope someone might be able to help.

First: Anyone know the size , thread and length of the screws?

Second: I am unable to shift in to low gear because the "button" does not activate. Has anyone had this problem?

I have an extended warranty and guess it is time to have it checked out.

Any feedback would be appreciated!

Thanks! Dave

Same thing happened to my Rubicon. No special screw needed just try what you have around the garage something will fit

Honda Part Number: 90111-HN2-000

They are special to an extent in that they are metric. This is somewhat common. Put some loctite on the screws and you wont have this problem again.

If you are unable to shift, your linkage may need adjusting.

Default Rubicon Shift **** Trouble

Thanks for feedback guys. I found some LONG metric screws that I will need to cut down; it was a quick temp fix. I still don't see how the button on the shift **** works. Mine does not seem to function at all. Maybe once it came off I did not put it back on properly. Seems like there is only one way for it to seat. What does it actually do when it is depressed?

I have also been reading some posts about angle/speed sensors and such. Maybe my shifting problem is related to that too. I will also check my battery charge since it obviously can affect the shifting, etc. per the posts.

Thanks! Dave

If you take the handle off, there is a large white plastic button on the top. In order to shift, that button must be pressed down. With the handle on, it presses that button down.

TEXMud: Thank you for the reply. I am sorry but I don't quite understand. When my handle is off there is a off white plastic "shaft: that protrudes from the shifter. It does not have a button on the top. Inside the **** is a white plastic side botton connected to a spring linkage. Am I missing something on my shifter end? I can send a pic if OK. Please let me know.

Thanks!

Dave

You are right. That entire white plastic shaft gets pushed down into the collar around it.
