01 Foreman 450 S vs. 02 Foreman 450 S
I posted a thread about the traxlock with no response, so maybe I can get some help with this one....I went to the dealer to shop today and he has a new 2001 Foreman 450 S and also a new 2002 Foreman 450 S. I suppose the only difference is the traxlock? Is this option worth the extra money? My only use of this machine will be utility and hunting...Also after riding both I did not see a difference in the steering for the 02 in 2wd, Having never ridden either before I really have no idea how much easier it is suppose to steer. I would like some comments on this please because I am going to get one of them on tuesday when they open back up. Thanks

TraxLoc is certainly worth the money, although it still turns well in 4x its soooo moutch fun to take it down a fire road in 2x and slide the back end out in a power slide.
You can klick it it in and out of 4x/2x at the touch of your thumb ata any speed.
The 02 also had a tweaked suspension which I hear helps allot anyways

My buddy has a 2002 Forman 450S and it works great. I think he uses the 2X option more of the time though hahah. It makes the quad a bit more sporty and you can play with it some more. What is the point of having a nice machine if you can't play in anything. It is one of the most well rounded bikes that honda makes IMO. Cranks though mud and snow but he can go back to 2X mode when it wants to carve a couple donuts. It is nice to click in when you are stuck in 2X also. Usually he keeps rolling or backs out with ease.

Thanks alot guys!! That is the kind of things I want to hear..I guess I will go for the 02 with traxloc....I will have to dicker him down on the price since it is a year old now...I have had a 300 for a long time so I had no idea about either one of these machines. Thanks again!!

I put a Warn 424 Kit on my '98 Forman and its the 2nd best thing I have put on my quad (tires being number 1!)
You may not notice the difference right away, but take it down a trail and you'll notice a big difference as the 2wd is way easier on the arms, especially on rockey/uneven terrain.
Powersliding on turens rocks too!!!
