Default 400ex timing

I rebuilt my engine with a 440 kit. I installed an edelbrock carb and had problems getting the bike running so I started messing with my timing ( now I know I shouldnt have ). I have also left my book at work and cant get it until tuesday. I need to know how to correctly set the timing ? Anyone here mess with their timing before ? My problem is nothing tells me which set of marks to set TDC to.

Thanks,
Matt

The top dead center mark on the flywheel is the line with the "T" next to it.The cam gear has 3 lines on it there are two lines that line up with the top of the head and the third line goes up.And the lobes on the the cam should be down when it is all timed right.

Thanks for the info, however there are three sets of marks on the flywheel

lF
lT
lT

One witha line and a F and two with a line and a T thats where I am having trouble. Nothing tells me which one to use ?

Thanks,
Matt

try removing the spark plug and use a piece of wire or a screwdriver and rotate engine over slowly by hand with a ratchet and the "T"mark that lines up when you feel the wire top out should be the one.
