Does anyone regret cutting the plastics on their 400ex?

I am about to cut the plastics on my 400ex and I was wondering if anyone has done this and regreted it when riding in mud etc. I primarily ride in the sand, however I sometimes to go to the wet trails and get dirty...

Go for it, it look good and you can see alot better. As for the mud, the difference in minimal and when you ride in mud or water you are going to get dirty regardless.

I did it. I mainly ride on wet trails. I regretted it two minutes into my first ride with them. If you don't mind stopping and wiping your goggles off every 100 yards, go for it. The minute I got home from that very sloppy first ride, I ordered new front plastic. It looked cool, but that was about it.

I have my plastic cut on my Banshee, but I do mostly sand. Some water, but not enough to make a big deal. There are some advantages. At least on the banshee. The big 'ole dumbo ears are a huge wind block. I remember back in Wyo racing and actually having to correct my handlebars to compensate for the wind coming at me from 2:00 oclock. Plus theve done top speed tests. Run with the fenders on and radar it, Hack the front fenders and do it again. Gained something like 4-5 mph. hack the rear. Another 2-3 mph on top end.. In wheelies you can see where you are going. Plus it gets chicks in bikini tops at Glamis???LOL Well maybe???
If you do much water or mud, id really think twice about it.

I cut mine and ride on wet trails all the time and there is not much difference with or without them. They didn't do much mud blocking when they were on there. If you like the way it looks do it.
