I have both a 97 300ex and a 96 warrior I have read post in this forum about how the 300ex smokes warriors and how the warrior smokes 300ex's I have drag raced both my 300ex and my warrior on a slightly up hill surface in a straight line thew 300ex beats my warrior by about 5-6 bike lenghts. does any have any stories to tell about how they beat a warrior or 300ex.

 

I will tell you that on a small mx track it is hard to pass the warriors. They seem to have more torque to pull them off the corners better than the 300EX. I ran at a local track in North Florida last weekend and was classed with them (all four of them!) and the built machines (pipes,cams,etc..) would spank me bad. There were two bikes that were stock and I could hang with them, as I could dive deeper into the corners, but I could not pass them. My 300EX has a K&N, open air box, and a Powroll header (with stock muffler). I have changed the front sprocket to a 12 tooth for more acceleration but to no avail. My next change will be a Supertrapp from Powroll and their mild performance cam. Mind you I ride this wheeler around the farm and desire to keep it as mild as I can.

 

When you compare machines that are in the same class, such as these. I think that it comes down too the rider. A good rider, with a good tool is fast. A better rider, with the same good tool is faster.
It's no secret what the strong points of each machine are. It's up too the rider to choose which tool that he is fastest on.
When racing a 300EX, performance parts are a must because the stock engine is so de-tuned.

Considering that the 300EX has 66 less cc's and one less gear than the Warrior it's performance is near identical to the Warrior's. I've never ran side by side with one so I really can't give any insight on how they compare. RIDE RED!!!!

 

I cant run in a straight line with a warrior on my EX but put em on the trail with me and we'll find out!
I basically agree that the rider is most of it, but having 60+ cc's less does makea difference on the performance of the smaller EX.

 

i own a bone stock 99 300ex and i drag raced my friends 97 warrior which was piped. we were even till we reached top gear and i just leaf him pulling away at about 3-5mph
