300ex vs Warrior vs Mojave
#41
Mojave: 249cc DOHC 4 stroke. 379lbs, 5 speed w/ reverse. 17srwhp / 379lbs = .0449 hp/lb.
TRX300EX: 282cc SOHC 4 stroke. 377lbs, 5 speed w/ reverse. 17srwhp / 377lbs = .0451 hp/lb.
Warrior: 348cc SOHC 4 stroke. 397lbs, 6 speed w/ reverse. 22srwhp / 397lbs = .0554 hp/lb.
Let that be a guideline. Common sense says that a quad with 17 hp will lose to a quad with 22 hp. Barring rider error, Warriors should beat mojaves and 300ex's.

Where did you find that info??? MAGAZINE!!...... My Mojave piped and geared will beat my 300ex with a pipe and 11:1 piston. The EX has comfort advantages and more low-end no doubt. The power of the mojave doesn't come on untill you really rev it then it is like a 2 stroke. I have riden a Warrior for 5 min and we had to stop to work on it, I usually ride every weekend and I don't now because I'm always stopped working on this kids Warrior.
A Warrior makes 22 at the crank not RW... Here's Warrior vs 300EX RWHP

Approx ratios
The info is approximate and is a compilation, so not guaranteed to be 100% true. But are you going to tell me that your quad is faster because the warrior has 20 more pounds and you lose 100ccs? Yes, you have DOHC so you get more out of the top end. But not that much. I am glad you like your mojave, and I am glad you can kick some butt on it. The general truth, however, is against you. Warriors are faster than 300ex's, mojaves are a little faster than 300exs. Mojave vs Warrior = closer race. The point is, that we are talking about less than a second here. Who gives a crap? Most dont stay stock anyway. Ride what you like and resepect the choices of others to ride what they wish. And we need to help the poor kid find out what he wants without bickering and running our mouths.
BTW, the question wasnt about piped mojaves vs hi compression ex's. If the tuning was done incorrectly or if the bike was ridden poorly then the 300ex could have easily been beat. I have beaten a z400 piped, jetted, filtered, and running a 2 liter bottle of NOS. But that doesnt mean a stock raptor is always going to be faster, it could have been rider or tuning. Dont be so ignorant to think that your one experience is always going to be the norm, especially when both quads were modded and not stock as the question was asked.

the warriorr has faster acceleration too but its heavy on a trail i think the warrior will tear them up but on a trak the 300ex should have no problem with the other, the suspension is just so much better on the 300ex
