Default what would cause this?.... brake question....

alrigth, so i was out riding this weekend, i went to nail the brakes before a turn and my foot goes all the way down...i got nothing....anyway.. i go and check my fluid to find that i have none...it was full the weekend before.
So today, i got out to put more fluid in..bleed the brakes etc...only to find that when i retighten the valve to see if i have any pressure...a lot of fluid comes out of the boot near the parking brake actuator and it goes all spongy again....soooooo.. what do i have to do to fix this where can i get parts etc and how much is a new rear caliper?

you have a bad seal somewhere is what it sounds like. They sell mastercylinder rebuild kits. Those are usually what go out on the bikes. Its highly unlikely its the caliper. They are pretty easy to disassemble though if you'd like to check it out. What kind of bike is it?

No, the honda rear setup is really nice actually. Its a dual piston setup and you're not going to find anything that is any better. Just rebuild your setup and you will be on your feet again

I love correcting DaBeechMan, he is such a know it all. I think the 400ex rear brake is a single piston. Maybe he got it mixed up with the 250r. No biggie. Just don't ask him if a STOCK Raptor is faster than a STOCK 250r. He will go on forever.

Its cool. It might be. If its a single piston im sure you can switch over to a 250r dual piston.

Why do you love to correct me? Im a know it all? hahaha. I dont think its that im a know it all, because i dont know half the stuff i should. But maybe its just that i choose to voice my opinion rather then being a little bi*ch that sits in the shadows and waits for a chance to jump on my back. Your 39 posts, your a hell of a contributor to this board.

I help a lot of people. I tell them my experiences with different subjects. Maybe i commented on something i shouldnt have. Im sorry, i dont ride a 400ex and have no ambition to. Next time i wont make assumptions. So i was wrong about the rear brake. Give me a damned break. Please forgive me board. Im a bad bad man. Please keep correcting me so i can feel better about my way of life.
