Honda parts
OK, I need to rant. I went down to my dealer yesterday, and I needed a shock linkage bearing for my 400EX. They didn't have it in stock, and I didn't expect them to, so I ordered it. It wont be here until NEXT WEDNESDAY!!! I'm pissed about this. It takes too long to get parts from honda. If John deere doesn't have a part in stock, they can have it on my front porch at 8:00 the next morning. Anybody got another situation they want to share?

Honda parts
OE parts prices are weird and schizophrenic. Recently I worked a Honda EB5000 generator with a bad 20A receptacle. Ordered a replacement that was priced at 130$, put it in and only one outlet worked, took it out and compared it to the old one and it was just a little different wired but same brand and quality. Ordered the right one in and to my surprise it was 35$!! They looked exactly the same. I know some parts have gotten cheaper over the years, like choke cables and differential assemblies, in Honda's case. But ALL the mfgrs. have their weirdness in parts. Like Ski-Doo snowmobiles offering rebuildable shocks on their sleds and then either not offering the parts to rebuild them, or making it near impossible to get the right thing. For years I have puzzled over how these inconsistencies can exist, and think I know the answer. They have a big dartboard at the parts warehouse, and when they're not sure about a price, they just whip a dart. LOL
