Shifts fine until it has been run for a while. It always shifts very quiet, not like our 02 Rancher 4x4 ES. My daughters boyfriend bought this 02 Recon ES for her.

When hot and you shift, the gear indicator light blinks when you hot the shift button, but it doesn't shift. It looses its ability to down shift first, then starts looing its ability to up shift. You can tell when the problem is starting because you have to accellerate and let off the gas and shift at the same time to get it to shift.

Is this just a shift solenoid problem?
