Recon Tuning
#1
i want to cut the snorkel bight behind the restriction at the end.
with no other mods like an exhaust, what main jet am i looking at?
the reason i ask is because dynojet only has a stage one kit for the recon and it does not list any jet sizes for an exhaust system or any mods.
i would like to get a jetkit because i dotn think the stock needles will like the mod.
i live in Michigan, any help will be appreciated.
thanks

I'd go up to at least a 100 main jet and move the clip on the needle all the way down. It probably wouldn't hurt to go up a size on the pilot too while you have it apart.
I think those jet kits are a waste of $$$.

Nitrousguy,
if you open up the snorkel ,you will need to go up several sizes on the main jet, I couldn't get my son's Recon to run right with it all the way open, ended up melting some plastic and welding on some peices to close it up a little. It was still twice as big as stock, and I needed to go up 4 sizes on the main jet, it flows that much more air !!! Take out a little at a time, and rejet until you get the performance you like, mine was much peppier off the bottom, really spun the tires out on the trail, but on the down side, since it revs so much better, you tend to run into the restrictive rev limiter sooner, so you will need to shift more often.
