rooster, I'm happy to hear that you havn't had them problems also (it's good that I don't look like the only one), and yea I do ride pretty much. As most people know, we had a little snow/ice storm last night and troughout today. So this gave me and two other of my riding partners (Jim, he rides a 99 450S, and Gene which rides a 99 450ES) the opportunity to get are first chance at some good snow riding. This was the first time in snow (that was actualy somewhat deep) with my XT's" and I was very impressed (first time with snow, but 2nd time with ice). We road from 8A.M. to around 5P.M. and when I fimally parked in my garage I had 4238 miles total.

I have a 2000 450es with 1200 klm (approx. 825 mi.) no problems at all, starts good in cold weather (-35 Celsius) and runs like a charm.
Biggest benifits of ES system for me are:
-Easy to shift while wearing BIG winter boots.
-Won't get your feet wet while trying to shift when in deep water.
-No shifter to get caught on brush, trees, rocks etc. (broke or bent more shifters than I care to count)

It may take time to get use to the shift buttons but once you do you won't want to go back to a foot shifter.
