As of the time I posted this, Honda had come from way back to have 1 more topic than the Polaris forum. They are still around 2000 total posts away, but 3 months ago, they were closer to 3000 away. Look for the gap to close as talk about the Rubicon gets a lot of honda guys in the mood to talk about it.

 

Haha, ok, I feel better now that I know I wasn't the only person watching to see if the Honda posts forum would overtake the Polaris one.

 

I guess all of the Polaris guys are all out ridding. I know I have been.

 

The majority of the Polaris riders seem to have moved on to other forums, where they can recieve support from like minded Polaris owners. I guess us Honda riders were a little rough on them, sorry guys. Boo-Hoo!

I think its interesting that, although Honda has more topics, the Polaris forum has far more posts. Not that any of this really matters, but we could run some real metrics on this stuff -- maybe even start an argument. But seriously, lets look at the average posts per topic across the forums and see if any conclusions emerge.

Also, I was noticing the number of views and replies per topic. I always wondered if you got more response with a straight forward topic (e.g. "Need Muffler Advice" or Electric Shift Problems") or something more clever but esoteric (e.g. "Less Noise Boys" or my favorite "Duh").

Actually, I'll bet some site managers track that sort of thing for customer profiles or usage stats. Anyone want to submit a research design? I'll run a few numbers this afternoon if work slows down.

 

Honda could cut the margin if they could just delete one topic on the polaris forum made in Oct. 99 by Evensen. "Auto Cat 500 vs. Sportsman 500" - 380+ posts- the longest by far of any single topic. It was fun keeping that one going for so long. Some guys just had to make up things to argue or talk about. I have already dug it up again to try and get it over 400.
