Default 250ex rev limiter

blasterdevil2- my wife used to have a 250 ex and the rev limiter would kick in way too soon on hers also.one solution is to go to a taller tire to change the gearing .on my wifes 250 ex we went to a 22" rear tire and it helped quite a bit with the rev limiter problem.

To expand on what 250r said, splicing the wires would just bypass the entire cdi unit, and you would end up with no spark, and a dead motor. The cdi unit is needed to build the energy pulse sent to the coil to fire the plug, it also controls the duration and timing of the energy, in a word, it is the 'brain' of the spark system, bypass it, and you are 'brain dead ' !!!!!
