I have them on my bike and I like'em. Rode the other day in the rain, mud and all the other stuff that goes along with it. When I got home I took the covers off and the shocks were dry and clean. Threw the covers in the washer, dried them, and put them back on.

The only bad thing I notice is they scratch the paint off the shocks.

Shock covers work great if you use the right type and in the right manner. They will keep out the mud and other stuff while riding which in turn will help maintain the seals in the shocks. But, you do need to take them off every now and then and clean the shock bodies. The biggest problem is if you use covers that are made out of the wrong material it will cause excessive heat buildup in the shocks due to the cover not allowing the shock to breath. Stay away from the neoprene covers. The Outerwears seem to work best.

Make sure you don't put the shock covers on too tight! I have Outerwares and they work great but nothing will stop all dirt and sand from getting in the covers. You should take them off and wash the shocks and covers every so often.

I've had Shockwears on my front shocks for a couple of months now and they are ripping to shreds? I don't really know why, but seems kinda cheap to me. Anyone know of a good brand?

Denton shockcovers are pretty good I hear. they zip on and off instead of velcro. I would've gotten them but the place I ordered my shocks from didn't have them. later

I was wondering if the shock covers that fit the stock shocks on a 250r would fit the stock shocks on my 400ex. Thanks
