Default Need Help from experts!! with piston clearance

[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img] Need help from the experts, what piston/cylinder wall clearance. What is the correct clearance on a '84 TRX 200. w/ Pro=x .010 over piston. HEEEEEEEELLLLLLLPPPPPP

.003 with an easy break-in, or .004 with a go-ahead break-in.

Default Need Help from experts!! with piston clearance

If your not using the stock piston, you have to check with it's maker. Different piston construction and materials cause VASTLY different expansion rates, in two different piston mfgs!! If it's a Honda oe, your putting in there, I usually fit them at .001 - .002 max.

Just thought I'd add, if your aftermarket piston doesn't include that info in or on the box, it's probably junk, don't even put it in.
