The Vinson is much sportier than the Rubicon. It is considerably faster and quicker. The Rubicon is much more reliable and a better workhorse.

I've heard a lot of good things on that Vinson, but I would take the Rubi on account of the transmission alone. The vinson has disc brakes which I would prefer in a landslide, but I hate belt drives, and the Rubicon transmission impresses me. Hell, I have a belt drive and I hate it still. I'd take the Rubicon, then slap the willwood disc brake kit up front and put an HMF pipe on it. Then I would forget that the Vinson even exhisted.

I chose the rubicon for the reliability and the transmission.

Work or play, stock to stock the vinson 5 speed will do anything the Rubi does only better in most cases. IMO. With GOOD maint. all mfg's are pretty reliable. All mfg's have their good points and their bad points. If you could take all the good points and build your own atv you would have one great atv. But then all the fun would be gone voicing are opinions! Get out and enjoy your atv!

Touche chief! I forgot there was a manual shift Vinson. That evens up the stakes.

I am sure the vinson is a nice bike and I have heard that it can beat a rubicon in a race but thats about it. My rubicon has almost 3400 miles on it and the things runs like new. You can ride the he!! out the rubi every time out without worrying about reliability issues and it has the option of ESP or the auto modes, what I like to call the best of both worlds.

yes but you are forgetting the all important screw on bottle cap style storage compartment on the Vinson. Now there is a selling point!

That was a good burn! I can't speak for any body else but I've never had a problem screwing the cap back on. The top has been very RELIABLE! Goes back on every time. It must have been designed by honda. If everbody liked the same brands would'nt be boring!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have fun.

Dude, its a lot better than what I've got going on underneath my seat. Though the drain plug is nice when washing it I guess.
