Default Race: 250 Ozark vs 250 Recon

Which one will win in a drag race the Ozark or the Recon? How far behind will the next quad be? I heard the Recon was fast but the Ozark has more displacement and mine seems very quick for a 250!. Only post if you have raced the two please! Thanks!!!

You've already compared the Ozark to the Rancher on another thread. I think that you just want to be faster than something. If you think the Ozark would beat the Rancher, why would you ask about the Recon? Yes, I think the Ozark would beat the Recon by a couple mph. (to the garage)

The mags did a Rally/ Ozark/ Recon shootout a few months back. Ozark will beat the Recon in a drag and in top end by just a little.

Not only have I raced them, I owned them both at the same time for a while. The Ozark if a little bit faster. Both great quads!

Ozarkrider03- First of all you have no idea what I have ridden. Second of all if you want to race then buy a RACE quad. I said that I thought the Ozark would beat the Recon by a couple of mph. But I also think that the Recon (over the long run) is more reliable than the Ozark. If you had a new Rincon or a new Rancher 400 then I might be a tiny bit jealous. But the Ozark doesn't do it for me. I have no need for a higher top speed when my average speed I drive is 12mph. The top speed rarely means anything in thick wooded areas. I don't think you want to hear people's opinions. You just want people to tell you what you want to hear. That is why you ask questions that you already know the answer to.

Coyote Chaser how did you plug up you Bell speedometer. I got one tonight for my Ozark and was just wondering how you installed it? Thanks for your help.

The Ozark is faster and a better all around quad than the recon.

Ozarkrider03- In addition to the Bell kit you're going to need an extra length of wire (thin speaker wire will work),silicone and a larger flat magnet. I used a flat round magnet cut from an old shower curtain that I was throwing out. You have to silicone the magnet onto the inside part of the rim. (I did it on the left front rim.) You have to mount the sensor where the magnet will pass within 1/32" (or as close as you can get it to register) as it goes around. ( I used a couple of the rubber shims and mounted it on a thicker part of the brake line. The shims go under the sensor so it doesn't dig into the brake line when you tighten it down.) I tried to mount the sensor back into the rim a little. It works well and even when the snow packs into the rim. It doesn't move.
You can jack that wheel up and spin it to see if it registers on the display. Wrap the wire upward and inward on parts that won't break the wire as you ride. ( I wound it around the brake lines and then up to the frame.) Cut the wire and splice in the extra length and wind it up the frame and out to one side of bars. (Leave some slack for when you turn the bars or wind it on an existing brake line.) Then splice the mounting shoe end onto the wire and mount it to the bars. Measure the heigth of the center of the tire that the sensor is mounted on. To do this park it on a flat surface. (I placed a board on the top of the tire and measured it from the ground.) Take the heigth and multiply it by 25.4 to convert it to millimeters. Take that number and muliply it by 3.1416 to get the the number you'll need to enter. After you enter the number choose the mph or hr instead of the km. (I followed someone around the block in a car to compare speeds.) Hope this helps.

I have a friend who also owns both. The Ozark is faster, and better liked by users of his two.

And that means nothing to me! I don't make it a habit of racing 250cc 2wd utility quads. I think if you bought one of these two quads, you didn't buy them to race. Did you?
