ok which one is faster in a drag and better overall?

 

I saw a z400 beat a atc250r in a drag this past weekend. Not sure which is better overall.

 

What year 250R? Maybe 1981? There is no way in he11 a stock z400 can beat a stock 85-86 atc250r.

 

Not sure about the year, he only beat the atc by half a bike.

 

was the atc liquid cooled or air cooled?

 

yeah, the free air motors aren't that powerfull, but they can be made into a monster

 

did u mean the trx250r? a stock trx will take a z400 and is an overall better bike (if its in good condition). Theres no bike that can hang with a R in handling (except maybe cannondale and a 400ex and gas gas)

 

A 250r is far superior to any 4-stroke in almost all aspects. A 400 may be better at hauling bark or pulling out a tree stump,but as for racing a 250r. I have a 89 lt 250 and have upgraded it extensively. The thing better about a 400 is that you can buy one new, and the suspension is far superior. Really though you can pick up a decent lt 250 for about $2400 where as a new 400 cost over 6000 and will break the bank trying to upgrade. Buy suspension better then stock with the money you save. I realize you may have intended the 400 to be v.s. a honda but suzuki 250r's are very underrated.
