01 rancher problems

Default 01 rancher problems

i have a 350es 4x4 and i heard there were some problems in the electric shift. i also heard that a reinforcement in the frame was recomended. if so what part of the frame needs it?

Default 01 rancher problems

The frame reinforcement was a bracket from the inside of the upper A-arm mounts to the top mounting bolt of the differential. There is also a tran linkeage piece that is replaced in the engine, a separate issue. Bring it to a Honda dealer and they can run the VIN and see if either has been done, or your machine is outside of the VIN range that requires them. Both bulletins are current so there should be no charge on either repair.

my rancher is a 01....is that the year that would have the problem?

Ya it is. Some late year models may not require one or the other repairs, but nearly all do. Again, should be able to bring a VIN to a dealer and they can find out on Hondanet (Honda's intranet) what service campaigns are outstanding on your Rancher.
