Default 200X shifter oil seal - Do I need to split the cases?

I was hoping to change out my leaky oil seal where the shifter comes through the case on my 83 ATC 200x without splitting the cases. Is that possible? I'm still waiting for the new seal to come in at the dealer, so I haven't seen it yet to judge for myself. Any other solutions to the leaky oil seal? I'm tempted to just park it with a couple of bricks under the tire to keep the oil on the other side of the engine.

Should be able to replace it easily. Never seen Honda make you split the cases for a shift shaft seal. You do on many countershaft seals tho.

Picked up the seal. When in easy as pie. I wonder why the old owner didn't do it. I guess he'd rather have oil all over his garage floor. Thanks guys.
