Why is Honda the best on earth?

well if he got tired of putting oil in it he should have continued to. the engine not supposed to run without oil. hey guys I think we just got another 2004ds650. same attitude. a pissed of dumb *** with no experience of his own. you don’t even know how he treats that bike. and what the hell are you saying he pinned the throttle??? your not supposed to do that. especially for 10 minuets let alone a second. That has got to be the most retarded thing I have every read. And which quad do you own. Probably none.

Honda ATVs have purpose built ATV engines. Designed for low end torque and mounted transversely for minimal torque loss to the rear wheels. Compare Honda engines to other makes that use generic or motorcycle engines that have to spin at high RPMs (high relative to Honda) to develop torque. Other makes engines have additional power loss because their engines are mounted designed to turn a countershaft and chain not a driveshaft. The drive train has to make a 90 degree bend to accomodate a drive shaft. More power loss. Other makes are using engines and drive system not designed for ATVs. How can those ATVs be considered higher tech than Honda???
The fact that others manufactures may have disc brakes is not an issue for me. The front Honda drums bring my ATV to a stop with the pressure from two fingers on the front lever. I don't need or want to try front wheelies. As to IRS, has anyone considered for IRS to work, the wheels have to be able to move outward?? Who remembers how many soldiers were killed in the Army when Jeeps first adopted IRS?? IRS is not the Holy Grail for utility ATVs. IRS brings it's own set of problems. The fact that Honda has been slow in adopting IRS may very well speak highly for Honda. Maybe Honda is more concerned with their customers safety than their customers money...........
I want three things, reliability, reliability and reliability. Honda has excellent design. Reliability is designed into the engine and Honda has excellent quality control to make sure the ATV delivered is what was designed. Why would anybody spend their hard earned money on anything less??

Best is a broad term. Maybe most reliable quad. Of course it's easier to be reliable when you detune your engines and stick with simple technologies, drum brakes, non-adjustable shocks, etc, etc, etc...Personally I'll take fastest or most fun or almost anything else over a LITTLE bit of extra reliability.

True words right there. I had a Rancher, had basicly no features and was slow, bought a Sportsman, 2x better ride, better handling, faster and WAY more capable, although with a little more maintenance, so what? Actually, when I think about it, I bought the Rancher new and kept it for 2 years. The electric shift garbage (you guys keep saying Honda is high-tech and doesn't come out with high-tech garbage, think again) would just stop shifting from time to time. The last weekend we had it, it stopped shifting period, and was stuck on 4th gear. Couldn't even manually shift it with the manual shift crank) Luckily the quad was still running when we noticed it wouldn't shift, so I drove it on 4th gear out of the woods and all the way to my camp, where we had to push it on a trailer.)
After a few weeks in the shop, ended up costing me 450$ in labor because of a defective Honda shifting pin or something like that. Yea. Go honda. High-tech POS.
My $3 dollars.

Ya man. Like I said I don't know what to say to his post......... 70,000 miles on a bike and it's junk because it smokes????? WTF!! How does this guy live without tripping over himself!

im not suprised it blew up, the oil would have dropped(if there was any in it) so your meant to let it run for few minutes so it could circulate, so thats what the noise was, so to just start it up and hold the throttle down wasnt a very good idea was it.

Man, couldn't you people sense the sarcasm.I was trying to act like a dumb kid who didn't know his a$$ from a hole in the wall. 70,000 miles on a dual sport dirt bike is like 1 million miles on a car. Honda has some of the most reliable machines on the face of the earth. Thats all I was trying to say. Man, I just wanted you guys to get a laugh out of my last post. Look for sarcasm when I post.
