How are these machines in the mud if I were to get one and add some gator tires in the back. How about ITP 589's, or are they too aggressive. Would it be then better then a Honda big red?

I cant say first hand how a 250 Fourtrax would do in the mud. I have a 300 fourtrax which seems to be fairly close to what you have. I bought some super swamper vampires for the rear in 97 or so when they first came out. They are GREAT tires. They get good traction in the mud. They're a 25x13x9 I believe. They have an extremely hard compound. At one point in time I had 0 psi in the tire and the side walls didnt even bow out, only reason I noticed was because one tire looked bigger than the other. I've rode my machine quite a bit and they still have great tread left, I'll probably never buy another set of tires for the rear again.
