Weight isn't that big of an issue in the 50s if they are built right. The AR50 weighs a little over 35 pounds and has more felt recoil than the Barrett M91 which only weighs 25 pounds or the M91-1 that weighs in at 21 pounds in my opinion. The recoil system of the Barretts just seems to do a better job but then again they're a grand more money.
Although I've never shot the M82A-1 with the recoiling barrel and bolt system, a friend has and was amazed at the lack of felt recoil. This thing weighs in at less than 29 pounds and he claims the recoil to be less than a stock 12 guage.

hey guys just back from the sand box across the pond and came to the conclusion that when your off base the only safety you have is your finger off the trigger , even though the upper ranked bone heads say you should only have the magazine in and not have a round chambered ., thats the kind of orders us lower ranked people get from a bunch of desk jockeys[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]
