smaller ones we do.. but that was would have been too much...
might have tried it if it wasnt 70 degrees out the day i shot it... we ended up dragging the thing back to the quad in t-shirts... very unusual to have any weather over 50 degrees in maine during the month of november. lol

Here, when deer season starts (July on the coast-archery) It's still warm, When it starts in the Sierra's It will still be 85 plus degrees. If it's 70's we are happy So, we need to skin them pretty quick, to lesson the chances of spoilage. How much do they charge to skin? Did you have him mounted?

it cost me 100$ to have it skinned, handcut (deboned before cut) and boxed up. i hate deet steak that has been cut while the bone is still in it... its taste funny...
and ya hes getting mounted... should be gettin it back here in about a month or 2...

Dang, that's a good price for butchering and skinning
Here, we are usually 2-3 plus hours, if not more away from home. So, we set up camp for a few days. Doesn't make much sense to drive all the way back, to visit a local butcher then drive back to camp. He will look awsome on the wall

thats the big reason i brought it to the cutters was because they have a huge cooler to put it in so it wouldnt go bad...

actually... that was pretty much the most exspensive place around... the reason i went there was because it was the only place close that had a registered scale so i could join the Big Bucks Club.

na, not record book. anything over 200 lbs gets you a cool shoulder patch and some bragging rights up here in maine...
final weight was 237... and to be honest i havent got him scored yet... the taxidermist is gonna do it probably... just havent asked about it yet.
although it was the biggest deer shot in my town for as long as many people can remember. small town.. hunting talk gets around FAST!!! lol
so fast that about 2 hours after i shot it i went to the tagging station... and i was talking to a guy in there who shot a lil skipper... he said "heard about a huge one shot over in durham... some young kid... lucky bastard"
come to find out he was talkin about me!!!!!!!!
it was funny... he almost **** his pants when he saw my deer... that pic doesnt show the mass of it... it literally filled the back on my s10.
