I am from ohio and moved to anchorage alaska. so far this is the best place in the world, fishing is amazing, went hunting and i got a black bear and my buddy got a grizzly, adn we are looking for road acces hunting places or jsut ideas for other places to hunt or any info really. i have talked to alasakboy in the past and was wonderin on the critera to be a resident. thanks mike

I believe an Alaska resident is a person who has lived in Alaska for 12 consecutive months and plan to continue to make Alaska their home. You also cannot claim residency in another state.
I am pretty sure you have to have lived in Alaska for 12month before you are legally eligible for "resident status" for hunting/fishing/subsistance stuff.
