Default gang reel mowers?

Does anyone use a gang reel mower to mow a couple acres or more and if so how does it work behind an ATV? This will just be for a lawn with no weeds or real tall grass. I was going to get the new belly mount mower deck made be www.swisherinc.com but I can get a larger cut for half the price on a gang reel mower. Please let me know what you think.

Chris

Maybe you should talk to the groundskeepers at a local golf course. They can fill you in on the problems inherent with a reel type mower.

Friend of mine works at a golf course and he is constantly having to do maintenance work on the mowers. Sharpening, adjusting and quite a bit of work on the reel drive system.

There was another posting about Swisher mowers on this site a month or so ago. You may find some helpful hints and opinions on that.

I have a friend with one. He DID pull it w/his quad. Now it sits in the barn rusting. He hates it. He says that your yard has to be in almost perfect shape to use it. You cant have any rocks in your yard. Always sharpening it....blah blah.....well you get the point...
