it's mostly just oak and maple trees things like that, nice for putting a stand in, very durable. they make it nice for squirrel hunting too cause they come for the nuts.

o yeah, squirrels are good eatin'. squirrel soup is really good. don't you have a squirrel season? we have a couple different, one from mid OCT. through NOV. Dec. 12-23 and Dec. 26- Feb. 4th. it's alot of fun, i use a 12 guage on them, they're not really a hard target. it's really nice in the fall when you can hear them runnin' around in the leaves , makes it easier to find them. you gotta try it out sometime though.

haha, i hate chipmunks. they're constantly chewing holes in my stuff. we have a pond with a liner in it and one chew right throught the liner. this past summer i shot 5 of them, and since they're considered varimnts it wasn't illegal or anything. there's not enough meat on them to eat, and i cant imagine they'd taste good, but i dunno. squirrels are harder targets i think, the chipmunks i shot stood straight up eating and i caught all but one in the neck, it almost too easy. plus, you get to use a shotgun on squirrels.

Squirrels are excellent table fare. I had squirrel for supper Sunday night. Nothing too complicated just roasted squirrel with potatoes and onions. They make excellent stew. You can dust them with flour and fry them like chicken. They also respond well to your favorite cornflake batter recipe. Simply cooking one on a spit with a little salt and pepper back at camp after a hard day of hunting is pretty darned tasty.

A quite challenging quarry too. I've got one rifle that I bought specifically for squirrel hunting. I've got a little .410 shotgun which works good for squirrels too. One of my favorite animals to hunt. I look forward to the opening day of squirrel season. Really helps you hone your skills for deer season. Also an excellent way to introduce kids to hunting.
