Hey, I need to pay for college somehow, and I don't think paying you will help out much.

I and my buddy were rabbit hunting in a thicket near old man Dale's pig pen. This pig pen was way back off the dirt road and in the middle of nowhere.

We were kicking brush piles and walking the deer paths when we saw it. It was an old lawn chair glistening in the sun. In the seat of that lawn chair was a roll of duct tape, a small rope, half empty bottle of baby oil, and an oily long-necked beer bottle

My buddy and I were about 15 at the time and we laughed it off and continued the hunt. Looking back...ewwwww.

I've seen mountain lions and wolves that don't exist, according to the wardens of Maine, but the strangest thing that I've ever seen was "Ball Lightning". I got about 8 feet from a ball lightning that was about 3-4 feet in diameter. Felt no heat or static electricity, watched it for 3 or four minutes before it went out. Went back the next day, there was an outline in the tree leaves where the edges of the leaves were burned. Birch tree. Within a few days the outline had vanished. My grandmother told me that she'd seen a similar one, then I told my mother, she also saw a similar one in an apple tree. Maybe not so rare?

Same in Minnesota...

Yeah; people know wolves are there now; but that wasn't true when my dad was growing up, and they are still denying the existence of mountain lions...

Once while walking in a National Forest I came across a strange looking pile of brush. It had clearly been made with fresh cuttings a few months prior, and now all the leaves on fallen off. Under the pile of brush as a John Deere Gator. I pulled the brush off, and found the key still in the ignition. I hit the starter and it started right up. Later that day I reported it to the local police thinking it was stolen. One of the cops called me a few days later and said that it hadn't been reported stolen and they were having trouble tracking down the owner as it had been sold several times since new; which in itself is strange as it wasn't more than a few years old - people who buy these things tend to hang onto them.

Caught my former best friend screwing a cow in the "tie up" where the milking happened. Luckily, I had a neighborhood girl with me to witness the spectacle. I grew up on a farm, but never saw the attraction, especially with plenty of friendly girls around. Stopped hanging around with that guy who will remain nameless. He would also pee on electric fences and say"Bettern a woman" DeeDawg , ever wonder why the exterminated wolves? Hmmm, our ancestors were just mean spirited, I guess, haha. When I go out at midnite to put wood in the wood boiler, I hear coyotes AND wolves howling all around me, nope, coyotes don't sound like wolves. A local zoo had a female wolf come into heat, outside the fence, bunch of male wolves were fighting to get in, haha.

Hopefully they will find the corpse.

Hydrex, maybe you can clear something up for me. I heard your Governor signed a bill making it legal for Maine residents to carry concealed without a permit. Someone said that applies to people from other states that are able to carry concealed too. You hear anything? I don't want to concealed carry until I'm sure I'm allowed. Thanks. -Moose

I don't think people where any meaner years ago, but far more people made their living off the land, and the only form of transportation was by foot or horseback. It wouldn't take too many run-ins with lost livestock or while out on horseback to make people scared of wolves.
