what chainsaws do you have?
I just picked up an older Sachs-Dolmer or is it Dolmer-Sachs, 117 . they tell me it's a decent saw.
I don't make a living from my saws, I just want one that runs when i need it to.
You do get what you pay for though, I went through 3 small homelites last year. I kept taking them back to Home Depot and swapping them untill the saw was obsolete. I can't say that i got $180.00 worth of use out of the 3 put together. The last one has a bad rod or a hole in the piston. It's not worth fixing these cheap saws.
I'd like to hear any ones experience with Sachs Dolmer saws.
Thanks

I have alot of experience with sachs chainsaws my cousin used to own a sachs dealer ship and also sold ski-doo's with sachs engines, our sachs is pretty reliable we had it for about 10 years but i dont use it too much because its no comfortable because i got big hands and my husky has more room but other then that it is a awesome saw and sounds like a dirtbike too

Makita owns Sachs....I think they are just Dolmar now....at least that's what the Makita Sales rep tells me. I have 2 of them and like them. They have been extremely reliable.

No...sorry.... I dont know........I am a Makita dealer and their part number starts with a "D"....when I see him I will aks though. Makita does in fact own them and Dolmar still puts their own name on some saws in addition to putting Makita on some(with of course the classic Makita green)
